This is so funny, the Borat DVD looks like a crappy bootleg. They should've made the entire package like a knock off

Ichi the Killer - Blood Bag Special Edition

I would have to say that I'm one of Miike's biggest fan - I have all of his movies on DVD and I'm gutted (haha) to see that they are going to re-release Ichi the Killer in a new special edition.

I already have the 3-disc Ichi movie from Korea and the cartoon, so I think I may pass this one up, although it's always so tempting.

Reservoir Dogs, the Gasoline Oil Can Edition

You may have remembered (and bought) the last version of this DVD, which came with five different covers (Mr Brown, Mr Pink, Mr Orange, etc).

To be released next Tuesday is the 15th Anniversary Edition. I can understand 25th or 50th Anniversary, but 15 sounds stupid to me. Why bother ? Just re-release it next year as a 16th Anniversary Edition.

Of course, I'm going to pick it up, despite already owning two previous release of this film.

PS, I am assuming they are going to have a little sneak peak at "Grind House"? I love Quentin...

Forks and Spoon (that I've Stolen)

I sort of went through collecting airline utensils phase for a while. Of course, this would've had required me to fly. A lot. And on different airlines.

I quickly came to the conclusion that I was not wealthy and settled for these three fine items. A fork from JAL (Japan Air Line), Canadian Air, and SwissAir.

The Badtz Maru fork was a gift, I think from Singapore.

Oldboy, 3-disc Collector's Edition coming soon

Chan-wook Park is practically my favorite director these days. I just saw Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (the 3rd film in the Vengeance trilogy) and I love it.

Oldboy, is part of the trilogy, and I'm glad to see that the 3-disc collector's edition will be out this November 14th from Tartan. It comes with loads of features and a 35mm film frame, and the original 212 page Japanese manga (currently published by Dark Horse Comics in the USA).

Looks way cool, I'm kind of bummed that I already have the DVD (but I will probably pick up the...

If you collect comics, you probably have picked up a random comics to read to see if you want to buy more future issues for the story.

Well, it seems Vertigo/DC Comics have finally stepped up to the 21st century and decided to give their classic first issues free to download. They are hoping that you like what you read that you might pick up their trade paperbacks or 'pamphlets'.

The ones I suggest you check out are
Y: THE LAST MAN #1

The Wicker Man - Wooden Box

Just in time to rinse your mind from the recent Wicker Man remake starring Nicholas Cage.

I picked up this wooden boxcase (limited to 50,000 copies) for about $19 around 2001. If you like this 70s creepy movie, it's worth seeking out.

The box includes a second disc which contains the original cut of the film. It has the introduction of the letter that was presented to the policeman as well as various deleted scenes (they were cut to keep the movie at a reasonable running time).

Plus the wooden box is really cool. Otherwise, if...

I've decided to change this group to general collectors. So here's my collection of Dark Horse's Lone Wolf and Cub books. This is just the US-version of these books.

Originally licensed through First Comics, which went bankrupted, and the series was never completed.

PS: Retail value of $280, not including taxes.

Takashi Miike Does America!

(My alternate title was "Oh Miike you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, hey Miike!")

If you like cult-ish type movies, you'll probably have heard of Miike. He's one of my favorite directors. I just saw two of his films, Bird People in China and Imprint.

Imprint is Miike's first American feature. Needless to say, Showtime, which buys the features for their one-hour show, "Masters of Horror", they REJECTED Miike's film!

The only way you can get to see this film is through DVD.

After watching it, I can pretty much see...
